A lot of info has been coming from Cinema Con this week dealing with Fast 7, Avengers 2, and Star Wars. Read below for more.
Avengers 2 – It Will Be “Awful”
Joss Whedon revealed with ET that “Avengers 2” will begin filming in February 2014 from a script he wrote based on ideas he had before the first movie was put into production.
“I didn’t think I was gonna do the second one, but I had an idea for it before I had figured out the first one,” he said. “You go into a movie not assuming that there’s going to be [another one]. I’ve seen plenty of movies that were the first part of the trilogy that never happened and it’s terrible … You don’t save anything for the trip back.”
“I did sort of know, ‘Well if they were to come back, I know what’s going to happen … it’s going to be awful.’”
He previously told MTV, “All of these people have met, so you have that out of the way. Now you can spend your time just digging in — and by digging in, I mean with a scalpel, to cause pain.”
Fast and Furious 7 Gets A Release Date and Director
James Wan, director of the Saw franchise, is to helm the next film in the franchise. Universal is planning to release the film next summer on July 11, 2014. As of right now, it is uncertain if The Rock can reprise his character since he is committed to doing Brett Ratner’s “Hercules” this summer.
Star Wars Films Every Summer Starting 2015
Word from Disney and Lucasfilm at CinemaCon this week is saying we will be getting stand alone films after Episode VII in 2015. We’ve heard before that principal cast members will be getting their own spin off. Disney is really trying to get it monies worth, especially since their 4 billion dollars richer.
